St. Joseph’s Nuu High School is situated approximately seventy kilometers from Mwingi Town off Garissa Road after Nguni market :- a turn to the right on a newly tarmacked road code named “Wise men road” which leads to The Nuu School situated next to Nuu market – the livestock hub of the East.

Co-Curricular
The school participates in co-curricular activities and has been able to advance up to the regional levels in drama, music, football, rugby and volleyball.
There are a number of clubs and societies ranging form science club, mathematics, geography and wildlife.
Students get regularly taken out for educational tours in the different parts of the country using the school bus.
This combined with the YMCA, Young Christian Students Association and Christian Union movements has been able to produce an all round student for the community and the country at large.
Our History
The school was established in 1984 as a mixed school under the sponsorship of the catholic Diocese of Kitui. Eventually the girls were phased out in 2012.
The school experienced rapid growth under Sister Angela Haltilgan until 1994. To date we have had 11 principals who have moulded the school into one of the best in Kitui county.
Academic excellence
St. Joseph’s Nuu High School boasts of some of the highest performances in Kitui county and ranks among the top 15 schools in Kenya National Certificate Examinations as indicated below during the last three years in the county.

Administration
St. Joseph’s Nuu High School has a stable administration consisting of a well managed BOM and PTA all under the current Chairman Mr. Joseph Kioko. The current principal of the School is Mr. Francis Nkanata. The school enrolment stands at 450 students with a full force of 25 teaches who are able to handle all the subjects offered in the Kenyan Curriculum.
Our support staff of 16 workers cater for the cleanliness and well being of the students and help maintain the 21 acres of land upon which the different academic and co-curricular activities take place.
